Happy Friday Bride-to-be’s! We have been gathering photos all year of beautiful bouquets from real brides and weddings. Now it is time to show you some of the trends we have been seeing from DIY brides in 2016.
We are seeing many brides are opting for a more whimsical, romantic and less structured bouquet. This is contrary to the very popular circular shaped bouquets. We have also seen more bohemian/rustic style weddings which lend themselves perfectly to this style of bouquet.
An element that has been steadily increasing in popularity, has been incorporating plants that are not typical “flowering” plants- such as roses – and instead opting for Thistles, Craspedia Billy Balls, Berry Fillers and Succulents. These plants offer a unique texture to the bouquet and are visually stunning!
There are also plenty of trends that are incorporating non-flower items into bouquets, such as jewels and paper art. These accents are beautiful and add a lovely sparkle or contrast to the bouquet. Although, nothing beats the beauty of perfectly bloomed Roses, and Peonies.
We love sharing the beautiful floral creations of our brides, and are always looking for more creations to share, so if your wedding is in 2016 and you haven’t shared with us, please reach out! Keep an eye on our blog, as next week we are looking at trends in other floral wedding details!

“NO TEARS, NO DRAMA – JUST THE WEDDING YOU WANT…
WITH THE BUDGET YOU’VE GOT”
You’ve heard us say once or twice that we love DIY weddings. Karlee & Josh’s wedding is a perfect example of why. Karlee & her parents created most of the details for this gorgeous fall wooded wedding.
We loved how the bouquets were created with beautiful rustic colors, while the centerpieces and chair accents had a combination of greenery and wooden branches.
There are so many beautiful details that we would love to tell you about each and every one, but a picture is worth a thousand words. Take a look below at this beautiful and inspirational wooded wedding.
Weddings are a gorgeous right of passage for the newlyweds. Whether you hire a professional vendor for each aspect of your wedding or take on the DIY challenge, every moment of the day is a beautiful. Our beautiful couple below went the DIY route with this blissful backyard bash.
Everything put together by the bride, groom and close family members. Our bride took the time to hand create all of the gorgeous hydrangea centerpieces and bouquets, as well as gathered and designed the look with all of the remaining details. The Bridal party even custom built the long dining tables that accented the backyard so perfectly.
Every detail of this wedding carried the DIY spirit that we love oh so very much, all while Courtney Shapiro Photography expertly captured the beauty and bliss of the day.
