From the time they were engaged, Michigan natives Nicole and Kyle knew exactly what they wanted for their wedding. The Ann Arbor couple gravitated towards the beautiful Inn At Stonecliffe on the Historic Mackinac Island in the hopes of designing a wedding that reflected the natural elegance of the scenery, and that is just what they did.
As a wedding planner for Compose Events, Nicole knew the ins and outs of the entire process and wasted no time in creating a budget, gathering resources, and nailing down the details. From the ceremony music to the flowers, she called on personal connections and resources to bring the dream to life and create a cohesive theme.
The design for our wedding was inspired by our venue. My husband and I both grew up visiting Northern Michigan as children, so it was a place we naturally gravitated towards when choosing a venue. We chose Historic Mackinac Island, The Inn at Stonecliffe. Because the venue was so natural beautiful and picturesque and the island as a whole historic, we used simplistic, soft and romantic details to lead the design letting the background take center stage.
The wedding itself was straight out of a fairytale. Sourced by Blooms By The Box and designed by a close family member, the dainty pink and delicate white flowers dotted the wedding with detail and tied the natural aesthetic together perfectly.
As the 100+ guests made their way to the reception, the celebration continued with dinner and dancing to the music of MICA Entertainment. The night lingered on as friends and family enjoyed the cutting of the classic white wedding cake topped with sweet pink flowers by Bella e Dolce. From the aisle to the afterparty, Katy O’Dell photography captured every moment and we would love to share it with you all.
