What\u2019s New for 2016 Wedding Flowers and Bridal Bouquets<\/h2>\n

Wedding bloggers, designers, and stylists, top bridal publications, floral industry leaders \u2013 everyone is busy predicting the trends in wedding flowers and bridal bouquets for 2016.\u00a0 We\u2019ve been pouring over it all, to sum up, the most popular wedding flower ideas this year!<\/p>\n

The recently released \u201cFlower Trends Forecast 2016\u201d from International Floral Distributors spotlights hot wedding styles for 2016, and there\u2019s great news for the DIY bride:\u00a0 Not only is there a look for everyone, but each truly lends itself to easy-to-achieve \u201cDo It Yourself\u201d beauty!<\/p>\n

\"wedding<\/p>\n

2016 will see a move away from the pastels and muted tones of pale pinks, grays, creams, and golds of recent seasons with a swing to deeper, richer jewel tones. Even when a lighter shade of a color is used for contrast and texture, it\u2019s a more saturated hue \u2013 like a rich \u201cTiffany Blue\u201d instead of a pale \u201cSky Blue\u201d.<\/p>\n

The best part?\u00a0 Each of these four wedding styles centers around a looser, less-structured shape \u2013 and so easy for the DIY bride to achieve!\u00a0 Tightly-shaped, symmetrical round bridal bouquets and flower arrangements are giving way to natural, wide shapes with cascading greens and vines \u2013 with a lot more bulk and presence.\u00a0 Look for flowing ribbon accents, too.<\/p>\n

For wedding decorations, draping vines and foliage make gorgeous budget-friendly backdrops, and year-round garlands are a fabulous base for floral table \u201crunners.\u201d<\/p>\n

The four trends to be on the lookout for this year are\u2026\u00a0(drum roll, please!)<\/p>\n

Sorbet Wedding Flowers<\/h2>\n

A palette of bright, bold yellow and green contrasted with coral and soft, greens such as variegated pittosporum, silver dollar<\/a> and seeded eucalyptus. We see it paired with blues, peaches, pinks, and lavenders. It contains elements such as milk glass, light wood containers, geometric shapes and ceramic pots. It gives way to a whimsical array of flowers and novelties such as Billy balls<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Festival Wedding Flowers<\/h2>\n

A free-spirited, fun and colorful<\/a> trend with an ethnic feel. It contains colors such as hot pink, orange, yellow, red, green, purple and burgundy. It contains trendy, bright ceramics, jute, beading, ethnic fabrics and a touch of metallic. This trend is perfect for the modern yet bohemian bride looking for something a little more original.<\/p>\n

Lustre Wedding Flowers<\/h2>\n

Lustre gives itself to a more modern yet classic and sophisticated feel. It has loose, organic looking white and ivory flowers with a bed of bright greens. It\u2019s mostly a black and white trend with your choice of gold<\/a>, silver, rose gold, champagne or copper. Textures are soft and smooth such as black satin ribbons, gold smooth glass and sequin fabrics.<\/p>\n

Lavish Wedding Flowers<\/h2>\n

The lavish trend is a new spin on last year\u2019s marsala<\/a> flower trend. Lavish includes marsala<\/a> along with whites and ivories but has a hint of purple (from deep purple to lavender) which looks stunning in addition to these beautiful hues. It also has a large metallic feel with candelabras and metallic vessels. Its fabrics include loose; hand dyed silk ribbon, velvet, satin, and linen.<\/p>\n
