This gorgeous little centerpiece from Ruffled (photographed by Tree of Life Films<\/a>) is the perfect addition to any DIY tablescape that needs a romantic touch, highlighting rose hearts, thistle, and stock. Follow our simple step-by-step recipe to create this rustic, romantic centerpiece for your winter DIY event!<\/p>\n

What you\u2019ll need to create this small rustic romantic centerpiece:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

4 red rose hearts
\n1-2 stems of thistle eryngium blue
\n3 stems of deep pink\/fuchsia stock
\n4-5 stems of naked seeded eucalyptus
\n3 stems of green hypericum berries
\nFloral Scissors
\nA rustic bud vase\/votive vase, etc.
\nPillar and votive candles<\/p>\n

Follow these steps to recreate this centerpiece:<\/h3>\n

1. Hydrate and prepare all of your blooms,<\/strong> making sure to remove all of the unnecessary leaves from the bottom half of the stems. This will help the water in your vase stay clean longer, extending the vase life of your flowers!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

2. Cut the stems according to the height of your vase<\/strong> using your floral scissors. Remember: you can always cut more, but you can\u2019t un-cut the stem if you\u2019ve trimmed off too much! A good rule of thumb is to start off cutting your stems to a length that is 1.5 times taller than your vase for a medium sized arrangement.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

3. Add your focal flowers<\/strong>. In this case, that would be the stock and the rose hearts. If you would like your centerpiece to be larger than the one in the photo, follow the Blooms floral rule of thirds: focal flowers, fillers, and greens should each make up about a third of the arrangement to be evenly balanced!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

4. <\/strong><\/span><\/span>Fill in the rest of your arrangement with your fillers, <\/strong>which would be the hypericum berries, naked seeded eucalyptus, and the thistle eryngium. The greatest aspect of this arrangement is that it’s meant to look effortless, so don’t worry too much about making it perfect!\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

5. Spray with Crowning Glory<\/strong> to extend the vase life of the flowers, and keep in a cool environment until you are ready to display them for your DIY event!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

6. Place candles around the vase.<\/strong>\u00a0Candles are a great way to extend a small budget because they add a lot of visual interest without costing an arm and a leg.
