You can combine different colors to really swing the mood of your arrangements from quiet, romantic and dreamy to dazzling, vibrant and energetic.<\/p>\n<p>The other two components of color \u2013 value and saturation \u2013 can also greatly affect the tone of your flower design. \u201c<em>Value<\/em>\u201d means how light or dark a color is. \u201c<em>Saturation<\/em>\u201d is the intensity of a color.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s use an example that will work for using wholesale flowers. Here we have four different hues (yellow, orange, red, purple) of carnation, each in two different values. First, it\u2019s very subjective. You like what you like. One person\u2019s \u201cvibrant\u201d could be another person\u2019s \u201charsh.\u201d It\u2019s all about mood and balance.<\/p>\n<p>Varying value \u2013 mixing lights and darks, even in different colors \u2013 will give your flower arrangements and bouquets depth and visual interest. Too much of the same value may leave your flower arrangement looking \u201cflat,\u201d with no particular focal point to move the eye around.<\/p>\n<p>Highly saturated color, when mixed with less saturated blooms, also creates contrast. More subdued flowers will quiet the overall effect of the flower arrangement.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s all about finding the right balance that suits the design and the event. Going for soft and romantic? Look for more muted, less saturated flowers. You can still go darker to up the drama, or lighter to soften it more.<\/p>\n<p>Want something more energetic and vital? Bright, saturated blossoms will lead the way.<\/p>\n<p>You can certainly mix the elements for a unique look. But keep the balance of value and saturation in mind as you choose. If something looks \u201coff\u201d in your flower arrangement, even if you\u2019re happy with the basic color combination, see if swapping out something more or less muted (but in the same hue), doesn\u2019t do the trick.
