It’s so much fun to make your DIY boutonnieres and corsages – trust me, it’s easy! As a general rule, use three floral elements: a backing, a texture, and a focal flower. We used Bonsai eucalyptus leaves as the backing with seeded eucalyptus seeds and hypericum berries for texture and spray roses as the focal flower.<\/p>\n

Steps to DIY Boutonnieres and Corsages<\/h2>\n

Supplies you will need:

\nPeach Hypericum Berries<\/a>
\nBonsai<\/a> Eucalyptus
\nSeeds from Seeded Eucalyptus<\/a>

Step 1:<\/strong> Remove the leaves from the flower stems, leaving approx. 3″ stems. Make a cluster of hypericum berries and secure them tightly with floral tape.<\/p>\n

Boutonniere: Option 2 Easy Steps<\/h2>\n

A boutonniere can be made in many styles using the same flowers and greenery. Here is another fun option for a different look using the same flowers. For this boutonniere, you will use the seeds and leaves on the seeded eucalyptus stems.<\/p>\n

Step 1:<\/strong> To create a boutonniere, you can rearrange the flowers and greenery differently to make the aesthetic different. In this option, we will use 3 leaves of the seeded eucalyptus greenery.<\/p>\n

Step 2:<\/strong> Remove the leaves from the stems of the flowers, leaving approx. 3″ stems.<\/p>\n

\"Floral \"Eucalyptus<\/p>\n

Step 3:<\/strong> Secure hypericum berries and eucalyptus seeds tightly with floral tape. Wrap three eucalyptus stems with floral tape.<\/p>\n

\"Adding \"Finish<\/p>\n

Step 4:<\/strong> Place the eucalyptus leaves behind the spray roses and hypericum berries and add eucalyptus seeds and tape tightly. Repeat the last step from the first bout- Using rustic brown wire, cover the tape. Wrap the wire around the neck of the flowers, starting at the top and finishing at the bottom. Secure the wire at the bottom with a twist. Trim the rustic wire with scissors.<\/p>\n

The boutonniere should be attached to the suit’s left lapel, just above the heart. Pin the boutonniere to the underside of the lapel.<\/p>\n

Easy Steps for DIY Flower Corsages<\/h2>\n

Now it’s time to make the matching corsage. Corsages are worn for various occasions, such as weddings, proms, dinner parties, special events, and anniversaries. Corsages typically consist of three to five flowers.<\/p>\n

Step 1:<\/strong> Cut the flowers so only 1\/2 – 1 inch of the stems remain underneath the bud. Each bundle should include hypericum berries, spray roses, and bonsai eucalyptus. Wrap the stems tightly at the top of the bloom and work your way down. There should be three bundles.<\/p>\n

Step 2: <\/strong>Use ribbon to make your bow. Cross the center with two loops. Tie a bow by pinching the center and twisting the floral wire about 4 inches long to hold it tight. Affix the bow firmly to the flowers.<\/p>\n
