Now that Dahlia season is finally here, we thought we would share 3 reasons we love Dahlia season! Dahlias are the quintessential summertime bloom with so much to offer a bouquet or arrangement.
Versatile
Dahlias are extremely versatile lending themselves to a wide variety of themes and motifs. Simply changing up their color can impact the feel of a Dahlia drastically. Cream dahlias for example, are perfect for a romantic or traditional type of bouquet or centerpiece. They have a soft cream color and sometimes even a blushy center similar to the popular café au lait dahlias. Bright and fun red, orange, purple, or yellow dahlias can be used for a more whimsical or festive event. Punchy colors mixed together can bring out a fiesta feel especially when paired with each other. A variety pack would be perfect for this! Lastly, pink dahlias are perfect for a rustic feel and pair beautifully with blooms such as sunflowers. Truly a wonderfully versatile flower dahlias are!
Colors
As previously mentioned, dahlias come in lots of beautiful colors and shades. From vibrant hues to muted neutrals, they really do check all the boxes and there is something for everyone when it comes to these stunning blooms.
Size
You have to love a flower that boasts a big, beautiful head. Dahlias can of course range in size and tend to be smaller at the beginning and end of their season but overall have an approx. head size of 2-5 inches. Sometimes you even get a bonus baby dahlia attached to the stem of a large dahlia. These little ones can be removed and used separately for filling in arrangements and various other little projects.
