Curiosity got the best of me, and I started to wonder how much the average bride in the U.S. spends on her wedding flowers. When I found the results for 2011, I have to admit I was taken back!
What Brides Are Spending: $1,200- $2,000
What You Could Spend if You DIY: $150-$300
If you are a budget bride, this is some must read stuff! After this, you will understand exactly why you should order freshly cut flowers and make your wedding arrangements! On AVERAGE brides spend around $1,200 – $2,000 on wedding arrangements!!!!!! But here, on Blooms By The Box, the average spending cost for wedding flowers ranges from $150-$300!!! THAT’S A DEAL!
There is no shame in being a DIY Bride; we understand that most people rather spend money on their happy ending rather than only their happy first day. You can use all that extra money to put a down payment on a house or invest in your new home. There are so many ways to have a beautiful wedding without being the average bride that spends 25,000 bucks on a wedding!
Okay, so here’s the proof!
This “True Cost of a Wedding” graph found on Divine Caroline is the perfect display of why you should consider being a DIY bride! The average cost for the florist was $1,988.00! OUCHIE!
I looked at a bunch of sites to make sure these results were accurate, and it turns out they are!
WeddingStats.org says “In 2011, the average cost of a floral wedding decor is between $1,844-$2,062 While the cost of a wedding varies by region, season and style, all indicators show that couples are beginning to increase their overall wedding budget spending in 2011.”
Just remember, you don’t have to be the bride that spends $2,000.00 on your wedding flowers! You an in control of your budget and when you have that cash for things that you really, honestly need you will be so happy you were a DIY BRIDE!
Wow! I had no idea people spent that much on wedding flowers on average! Me and my husband had a small wedding for this exact reason. We had the money to put the down payment on our dream home because we conserved for our wedding. Love the post đ
WOW! I did my own flowers with Bloomsbythebox, I am so happy i didn’t have to spend $2,000.00! Thanks!
I think it is worth every penny! Seeing that its a celebration that you only do once in your entire life đ

I was told calla Lillie’s make beautiful bouquets and are not too expensive . Good idea for a autumn wedding:)
My question is; if I did DIY flowers- where do I store them prior to the wedding? I understand that DIY flowers should be made 1 day prior to the wedding. Is it okay to store wedding flowers in your home refrigerator?
Hi Sara, You can store them in any cool, dry place. We do not recommend refrigerating your flowers as home refrigerators are much more humid than flower coolers and can cause the flowers to wilt. They should just be given a fresh cut upon arrival and placed in room temperature water to rehydrate and bloom. If you have any other quetsions, feel free to email service@bloomsbythebox.com
