This bright ombre centerpiece with roses, ranunculus, carnations, and chrysanthemums will bring a burst of color to your wedding, especially in February for Valentine’s Day. Create a professional-looking ombre centerpiece with a few simple steps!
Ombre Flowers & Supplies
You can order our premade Pantone Viva Magenta Flower Pack or individual bunches of flowers- Rose Freedom, Rose Cherry O, Rose Wedding Spirit, Burgundy Fancy Carnations, Hot Pink Ranunculus, Spray Rose Light Pink, Israeli Ruscus, and Red Cushion Pompons.
You will need a 10.5” green double-design bowl, wet floral foam, and floral shears. The design bowl container is durable and will keep the flowers hydrated with the wet foam.
Creating Ombre Centerpiece Base
Start with cutting a few pieces of Italian Ruscus greenery and insert in the floral foam on both sides. Let the Israeli Ruscus stick out at least 3-4 inches over the side of the bowl.
Adding Flowers in Ombre Order
When adding the flowers vary the heights of your stems – some can be deeper and lower and some higher to add depth. When inserting the stems into the foam, try not to make too many adjustments—Start with the burgundy carnations and continue adding the colors in an ombre pattern. Continue by adding red cushion pompon mums, red freedom roses, hot pink ranunculus, rose cherry’O, rose wedding spirit, and lastly, you will add the light pink spray roses.
Make Adjustments
Spin the ombre flower arrangement and check for gaps. Remember your guests will be sitting at the table. They will likely be about eye level with the top of the vase. Check for gaps lower down and fill in all gaps so you cannot see the floral foam.
Store & Hydrate Centerpiece
Store your ombre centerpieces in a cool or air-conditioned room but make sure the air does not blow directly on the centerpiece. You do not have to refrigerate. Add water to the foam using water can the next day to keep the stems hydrated. Be careful the water does not overflow.
