Flowers are a home run!

Flowers are a home run!

Okay, I know what you’re thinking, “Flowers for Dad? Really?” But what you probably don’t know is that back in earlier times wearing flowers was a traditional way of celebrating Father’s Day; thanks to Mrs. John B. Dodd who suggested the holiday in 1909! Mrs. Dodd favored the red rose to honor a father still living, while a white flower honored a deceased dad.

Therefore, in honor of Mrs. Dodd and all of her efforts to establish Father’s Day, it’s a must that flowers be incorporated. The times have changed, so sporting a white or red rose this Sunday may not be ideal. However, you can incorporate flowers into your Father’s Day celebrations by making a flower arrangement for your table for dinner, or even adding flowers to a coffee mug for Dad.
