One of the most intriguing flowers available, dahlias feature a stunning amount of variety. Our nerdy science friends tell us that while most flowers have two sets of homologous chromosomes, dahlias have eight, and that leads to all the different varieties and sizes. That means when shopping for dahlias, it is important to note that they are a type of flower where size, shape and color variations are to be expected. This is not a flaw; rather one of nature’s many charms.

When you are looking to create a dramatic bouquet filled with deep hues, the burgundy dahlia makes for a show-stopping choice. The round, globe-like shape is filled with layer after layer of richly saturated petals in a warm burgundy hue with hints of deep reddish purple.

Each flower in our five bunches of bulk burgundy dahlias (50 stems) is fresh cut from the field and shipped immediately to ensure you receive your blooms in their best state. We also recommend that you always keep your dahlias in fresh water during rehydration and after arranging. It is also best to trim off the leaves on the bottom of the stems before placing the stems in water.

We have more than 20 years of experience keeping an eye on growing conditions and other market factors, which makes Blooms by the Box one of the best sources for buying bulk burgundy dahlia flowers. We work hard to ensure your flowers will arrive safely and on time for your special event.

Size: Stem length 14"-16" long.

Vase Life: This flower is highly dependent on hydration, so do not be alarmed if, when you receive them, they are dehydrated. They will perk up with a fresh cut and a drink of water! Vase life is usually three to five days depending on environmental conditions.

Availability: April or beginning of May through the end of October

Keep in mind: Dahlias are subject to color substitution throughout their season. Please note these shades tend to vary. They are also smaller when they are going out of season.

Seasonality note: Dahlias are beginning to go out of season, which results in their blooms being smaller than normal.
