The bottles of champagne have been popped, the cake has been cut, and I’m sure some feet may still hurt from dancing until 3:00 am. The most anticipated wedding of the decade is over. No Oprah. No Obama. No Steven Speilberg. It seems as if all the hype for Chelsea Clinton’s wedding didn’t stop her from having the most alluring event that has been thrown in years.
But I’m curious about these flowers! From the wedding photos that have been released, it looks like Jeff Leatham used gardenias to create an elegant round bouquet for Chelsea, while her fiance’ and all of his groomsmen sported white freesia boutonnières. According to an article from UsMagazine.com, Jeff Leatham recalls, “It was very important [to Chelsea] to keep it organic and natural… The theme, floral wise, was organic, clean, simple and elegant.”
The chuppah that Leatham created from twigs, branches and white blooms looked as if it sprouted from the ground naturally. It created the ideal setting for the interfaith ceremony complimenting the outdoors effortlessly. Post wedding, Leatham told Us Magazine, “It was such an honor to be involved in Chelsea and Marc’s day. Everyone could not have been more kind. When we saw the photos and the look on Chelsea’s face, it was worth it. It was such an honor.”
