It’s amazing what the bridal blogger community can do! Yes, they provide brides-to-be with inspiration and adorable DIY projects, but when tragedy strikes they have recently proven to come together and use the blogosphere to benefit those in need. So without further adieu, I present Lucia and Henny of Utterly Engaged and Lydia of Ever Ours, who are the pioneers of For Japan With Love.

According to Lydia, “What started off as “I hope we get 50 bloggers involved” and “I hope we do raise $5,500″ turned into something far beyond what I had ever imagined.” As of today, the ladies are responsible for raising $54, 237 for ShelterBox and a movement that has spread awareness to the tragic devastation from the Japan earthquake and tsunamis.

Just fyi, ShelterBox was one of the first organizations asked by Japan to help and were on hand on the Saturday after the quake. Each large, green ShelterBox is tailored to a disaster but typically contains a disaster relief tent for an extended family, blankets, water storage and purification equipment, cooking utensils, a stove, a basic tool kit, a children’s activity pack and other vital items.

Ladies, I can’t commend you enough for all of your efforts! You have done an extremely admirable and amazing thing, and we should all follow in your example. Thank you for such a wonderful cause!
